Meghan Markle may have had a lot on her plate with Prince Harry‘s birthday and keeping up appearances at the Invictus Games. But all of that may end up taking a backseat to the latest stunt her father, Thomas Markle, just pulled. After years of shading each other and spilling family secrets, it seems as though the seventy-nine-year-old has had a change of heart since his last public interview earlier this year.

Back in May, the Duchess’s father went on what he called his “final interview” to try to reconcile with his estranged daughter. While it may not have had the effects he wanted, the persistent man has now shot his second shot in hopes that Meghan Markle may respond to his pleas.

Thomas Markle puts in efforts to reconcile with Meghan Markle

According to reports from the Daily Mail, Thomas Markle went on Good Morning Britain in the hopes of convincing his daughter, the former Suits star, to let him see his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. In the interview, he said, “‘I’m heartbroken. I am very upset. This is a cruel thing to do to a grandparent – to deny the right to see a grandchild.” He went on to say that there was “no excuse” to treat him like this.

While it has been four years since Meghan Markle, who recently revealed her hopes for her kids’ hobbies, has had any contact with her father, it seems as though he has no plans of giving up. This is not the first time that her father has tried to convince Markle to introduce him to her kids with Prince Harry, but it does not seem like he will be getting a response from her. In fact, after her publicly “grieving” her father in her Netflix documentary, Harry & Meghan, the Duchess’s stance on the whole situation seems pretty clear.

With a feud dating back to before Meghan Markle’s 2018 wedding to Prince Harry, it is no wonder that the grandfather has not gotten a chance to see his grandkids. But Thomas Markle may have blown his chances long before that.

Around the time Meghan Markle started dating Prince Harry, her father began talking to the press and media outlets quite a lot. The entire situation that should have been dealt with in private was aired for everybody to see. With comments coming straight from Thomas Markle and her step-sister Samantha Markle, the British media began to slander the actress.

After years of constant slander and lies, eventually, Meghan Markle mentally checked out from paying attention to what her family says to the public. But with her father’s persistent pleas, there is no saying what decision the Suits star could make. While there is no way of saying how this could play out, all fans really have to do is pay attention to the headlines and see if she even bothers to acknowledge this latest interview.
