Henry Cavill may have played one of the biggest superheroes from the DC Universe, but that did not save him from James Gunn’s new plans. When the actor officially announced that he would not return as Superman, fans felt disappointed as he had already stepped down from his leading role in The Witcher series. But thankfully fans got one last season of Cavill as Geralt of Rivera on the series, however, the actor has since been replaced by Liam Hemsworth.

While fans of the Man of Steel actor have a long wait before he announces any upcoming projects, at least the internet is up to its usual antics. And this time, it seems to be exactly what fans have been waiting for.

Henry Cavill is everyone’s favorite superhero

Even though Henry Cavill, whose Infamous Rolling Stone magazine cover was recently revealed, may not be Superman anymore, that does not stop artists from exploring their creativity and giving their followers what they want. An art page on Instagram posted a picture of the actor in full character, along with the Smallville actor, Tom Welling. Even though it was just a picture, it gave the actor’s fans the crossover they never knew they needed.

The fan art was shared by Buffy2ville, whose entire page is filled with collaborations and crossovers that most people would never dream of. This was one of those pieces of art. The fan art itself featured both Henry Cavill and Tom Welling, in complete superhero garb, getting ready to fight an incoming alien attack.

But that was not all. The reason that Cavill’s little feature here has tugged on everyone’s heartstrings is that fans already faced a letdown last month after the release of Ezra Miller’s The Flash.

The Flash’s Superman cameo disappointment

After months of waiting, Henry Cavill fans were completely let down after the actor was let out of Ezra Miller’s The Flash. Even though the film has not been well-received, the one thing that may have saved it was a cameo from Cavill. But instead, the directors of the film decided to go the Tim Burton way and ended up casting Nicolas Cage.

Evidently, it was the best part of the film for a lot of the viewers that watched it. But that was not the only cameo in the film, from the likes of Ben Affleck’s Batman and Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman everyone was accounted for except our Man of Steel. While the reasons for not casting Henry Cavill are unknown, no one can deny that adding Tim Burton’s Superman was an exceptional touch.

While it looks like fans might have to wait a little longer for the Superman cameo that they want, at least the internet has given them something to hold on to until that day finally comes.
