The 81st Golden Globe Awards look all shiny with the swarming celebrities awaiting their call of accolade. However, amidst the starry event, the award ceremony host, Jo Koy, dished out some alarmingly lame jokes to commence the evening. While the host of the event often takes the courtesy of boosting the audience with laughter pills and anecdotes, it seems like Jo Koy’s starter pack did not sit well with the fans.

Joy Koy was seen cracking some weirdly out-of-the-box jokes. So much so that it actually took his hosting game completely out of the room. From the Robert de Niro roast to the fall-off monologue, fans look really disappointed with him. As a result, the on-screen roast session has reincarnated in the social thread yet again. However, the person receiving the hilarity this time is Jo Koy himself. 

Furthermore, Jo Koy also took a dig at Taylor Swift with an NFL joke which did not go down well with the pop sensation. Much like the audience, Swift too, had a poker face reaction as she sipped on her glass of wine without paying heed. One of the many reasons why fans keep crowning Swift is because of these moments of relatability. 

Needless to say, henceforth, X (formerly Twitter) users have unleashed their inner comedians as they took their humor game up by a notch to mock Jo Koy.

Fans disappointed with Jo Koy’s roasting session

Jo Koy is known for being a riotous comedian. His perfectionist landing on fitting wits is what makes him a class apart. However, his presence at the Golden Globes did not seem to be his best avatar. Instead, it came as a strikingly desperate attempt of his to evoke the audience in giggles. As a result, fans were quick to note their suggestions for a better laughter streak. 

Some fans could not fathom the reason behind these low-radar jokes. And others showered in disapproval for his untasteful comments while talking about Greta Gerwig’s Barbie.

There is no doubt that the jokes definitely failed to leave a mark. If anything else, it emerged as a mark of red flag. Some fans even said how they just “fast-forwarded” his sequence to get on the declarations of awards and winners. Therefore, it is safe to say that despite the evening of glory, Jo Koy’s remarks shred the shining armor and not in the best of ways.
