“Abhorrent Exaggeration”- Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Rep Reacts to Car Chase Rumours
The Prince Harry and Meghan Markle New York car chase incident was the first-ever royal incident of 2023 that shook the fandom. There was widespread outrage among Sussex fans against the near – catastrophic incident. Meanwhile, top-ranked authorities, like the New York Police Department and the New York mayor, also pitched in their statements on the incident. Along with the concern, the Sussexes also got their fair share of criticism and backlashes. Most of them were rooted in the allegations of exaggeration and fraud.
As the mishap took place, the spokesperson for the Sussexes termed the encounter as a near-catastrophic incident of collisions and injuries. However, later, as the story developed, the NYPD made it clear that no collisions took place on their way. And that, the Duke and the Duchess of Sussex reached their destination, all safe and sound. Royal commentators thereafter claimed the incident to be staged as a mere PR stunt.

Nonetheless, blasting all such rumors Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have themselves made it clear that the rumors are all exaggerations of the incident. Spokesperson to the Sussexes and a publicist, Ashley Hansen clarified to Page Six, “Considering the duke’s family history, one would have to think nothing of the couple or anybody associated with them to believe this was any sort of PR stunt.” She thus continued to add, “Quite frankly, I think that’s abhorrent.”

Making a point, Hansen described how everyone knows how Prince Harry and his family were personally impacted by such an event in the past. A very similar chase led to the death of his mother, Princess Diana, and two others in 1997. Ever since, the now estranged prince has spoken a lot about how her death affected him.

He even opened up, near the 20th anniversary of her death, a bit about their custody. The Prince once explained how, because of the custody arrangement, the two brothers had not seen their mother in a month prior to her death. With everything that the Duke has been managing, Ashley Hansen feels the tragic incident have been a lot exaggerated before the public.
