Aaron Korsh Reveals How ‘Suits L.A.’ Will Differ From Meghan Markle’s Original, Plus a Release Schedule
Last year, Suits defied all odds and became the most popular show on Netflix ever. This unexpected resurgence naturally sparked curiosity about the future of Suits and whether it would make a comeback. While Meghan Markle's comeback as an actress was soon ruled out, it was confirmed later that same year that Aaron Korsh and NBCUniversal were hard at work developing a new spinoff in the Suits universe. In October, Aaron Korsh’s spinoff, titled Suits L.A., was officially confirmed. Recently, the creator himself shared some major updates.
Aaron Korsh revealed the release schedule for Suits L.A. and how it will set itself apart from its predecessor starring Meghan Markle.

Aaron Korsh recently took to X to answer some fans' questions about Suits L.A. The creator confirmed, "The new #Suits is its own thing". He explained that the spinoff will be a whole different show compared to the original series that starred Meghan Markle, in terms of "characters, premise, the location and type of law they practice". According to Korsh, the only similarity between the two shows, as per the creator, is that "it’s got an overall mix of silliness and intensity and that my voice is my voice".
In another tweet, Aaron Korsh laid out the release schedule for Suits L.A. He mentioned that the team is currently "enjoying" their time in the writers' room. However, he believes the series could potentially "premiere this winter". Nonetheless, his recent comments about the show mark a huge shift from his earlier interviews when he referred to the spinoff as "a cousin of Suits".
In fact, Aaron Korsh had previously stated that the spinoff would carry plenty of the same DNA as the original Suits series.

Last year, right at the height of Suits’ comeback on streaming platforms, Aaron Korsh revealed in an exclusive interview with The Hollywood Reporter that his new show, now called Suits L.A., "has plenty of DNA of what people liked about Suits” and that "it’s a cousin of Suits". When asked if the show is set in a different world, the writer clarified, "Not completely".
At that time, Korsh had two plotlines in mind that were meant to run side by side. One was focused on lawyers, and the other on agents. However, once they sold it, the attention soon shifted mainly to the lawyers, and Korsh "embraced it". Now with the winter release date set, fans will soon get to see all the new twists the Suits spinoff will introduce to the legal-drama universe.
