It has been a year since the infamous Oscar incident between Chris Rock and Will Smith happened. However, the controversy refuses to die down. Smith found himself on the receiving end of a wave of backlash after the 2022 Oscars and even got banned from all the Academy Awards for 10 years. However, this incident proved to be advantageous for the ratings of Oscar ceremonies which had been plummeting for a long time. Recently, American rapper Juicy J opened up about his experience with Smith at the 2006 Academy Awards.

And, from what it seems, this is not the only time the Men In Black actor lost his temper at the Oscars. Juicy J recalled a memory from the event and expressed his disappointment with the way the 54-year-old greeted him after the awards.

The ‘Half On A Sack’ singer recently appeared on the Allison Interviews podcast and recalled the time when his band, Three 6 Mafia, won at the Oscars. He further went on to share how the Hancock actor was “mad” because the band got an Oscar before him. The 48-year-old rapper, who had been a fan of Smith and grew up listening to his music, expressed his honor to meet him. However, Smith had a cold response to Juicy J’s gesture and said, “Man, what the hell? Y’all got one before me?

The rapper acknowledged the possibility of The Fresh Prince just tapping into his comedic side. However, he highlighted the fact that Black Hollywood totally ignored the band’s victory. While many Hollywood A-listers came forward to congratulate Three 6 Mafia, the founder of the Southern Hip Hop group found it weird how “Nobody Black” walked up to them. Nevertheless, the ‘I Don’t Mind’ singer didn’t let these things get his team down and celebrated their legendary victory at the Oscars.

A few months back, Rock did a stand-up special at Baltimore’s Hippodrome Theatre, where he finally addressed the elephant in the room. Addressing people’s questions about why he didn’t do anything about the slap the actor said his parents taught him not to “fight in front of white people”. Rock then went on to reveal how he reached out to Smith during his fallout with Jada and that Smith only hit him “because he could”. However, the Bad Boys star ate a humble pie and apologized for his behavior.
