Speaking to Page Six at the Broadway premiere of Suffs, the actress shared her disappointment that people often resort to attacking others for no good reason. McCarthy described Markle as "a smart interesting woman that has her own life", who "is incredibly threatening to some people".

The 53-year-old actress also shared that she finds Markle inspiring and has never felt threatened by someone as amazing as her. This interview took place after McCarthy collaborated with Markle on a video for her 40th birthday and a mentorship program called 40×40. With all the criticism the 42-year-old has been facing, this backing from the Gilmore Girls star was much needed.

In the video, she seemed to awkwardly suggest to a woman not to pose with Prince Harry, but to stand next to her instead.

People online criticized Markle for moving the woman to stand next to her instead of Prince Harry. The Sussexes have also been criticized for their Netflix projects, while the royal family is dealing with a massive crisis. The Californian couple struck deals with Netflix for two new shows about their interests, like cooking, gardening, and Polo. That said, it is nice that Markle's celebrity circle is supporting her with backing as she jumps back into Hollywood.
