When news first broke of Kim Kardashian appearing in the upcoming season of American Horror Story, fans were intrigued. Imagining a beauty mogul known for making heads turn with her looks in a horror role can be quite puzzling. Even loyal fans had trouble picturing the SKIMS founder as a character in the anthology series. After all, the long-running show is known for its gore and spine-chilling sequences. But maybe for Kardashian, who had been recovering from a divorce and a breakup, it was time to literally switch roles.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star is known for her very dramatic approach towards everything in life. While some might say reality TV is nothing but acting, some disagreed with inviting the socialite to act in the award-winning show. Starring alongside the 42-year-old are American actress Emma Roberts and English model Cara Delevingne. Roberts, who is a veteran of the show, has given appearances in five previous seasons of the anthology. Also joining the cast for the first time, Delevingne will make her horror genre debut through this role. While the 32-year-old was reportedly excited to be working alongside the beauty mogul, one well-known actor from the series could not hide her discontent. 

During an interview with Andy Cohen, Patti LuPone, who portrayed Kathy in the horror series addressed the socialite directly. Her snarky remark made it clear that she was not happy with this development. But the unfazed mother of four is all set to play an on-screen mother, regardless of the backlash. And this season’s theme centers around motherhood as well. As seen in the teaser, holding a baby in her arms, Kim Kardashian has set the ball rolling on the online community’s intrigue.
