However, the star had already been building her career with various other series and film franchises. From You to even her various appearances in the Scream franchise, she had managed to make a name for herself. While fans were looking forward to seeing her in the next horror project, the actress unfortunately had to exit from it.
While fans might not get the chance to see her in the 7th Scream film, the world recently got a chance to see her reunite with her former co-stars from the film.

In a post on X, it was revealed that Jenna Ortega had made her way to the Motion Picture & Television Fund’s annual event ahead of their charity. However, she was not alone. While she was mingling at the event of the night, she had reunited with her old cast mates from Scream VII. Apart from her, Melissa Barrera, Mason Gooding, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Liana Liberato, Tony Revolori, Skeet Ulrich, and Jack Quaid had all made appearances.
This was the first time that the actress had been seen with the rest of the cast since she had left the project. While the picture ended up garnering a lot of love, it was Ortega’s embodiment of her character in Wednesday, that ended up grabbing attention. From what fans could see in the pictures, it looked like all the stars seemed to have an amazing time together on set and off.
The sudden group photo ended up taking over the internet just a little over a month since Jenna Ortega had chosen to step down from her role in Scream.
Why Jenna Ortega exited Scream VII
Back in November of last year, it was revealed that two stars from the upcoming Scream film had left the project. They were Mellisa Barrera and Jenna Ortega. While the revelation had come as a surprise at first, little by little more details started to emerge. The 21-year-old had stepped down from her role because of conflicting schedules with the film and the second season of Netflix’s Wednesday, which had bagged an Emmy.

However, she was not the first one to leave. The first one was Barrera who had been supposedly fired by Spyglass Studio. It had happened after she posted what they believed to be controversial posts. While it may have taken the world by surprise, there was not much anyone could do about it rather than wait for more actresses to be brought into the slasher film.
