The latest blow came with Joker: Folie à Deux's box office bomb, sinking the franchise to new lows. Amidst the chaos, a well-intentioned fan attempted to lift spirits with heartfelt fan art. However, the gesture backfired as eagle-eyed enthusiasts spotted a crucial mistake. 

The misstep ignited a fiery debate, frustrating fans who were struggling to cope with the dismantling of their beloved DC universe. Renowned artist Aaron Baily's made public a fan art, featuring David Corenswet, Tyler Hoechlin, and Henry Cavill hanging out on the moon. The sparked imagination among fans, with many appreciating the sentimental gesture. Enthusiasts envisioned a Superman multiverse, similar to Spider-Man's. However, disappointment topped the scales.

The fan art which was aimed to soothe fans' wounds after Cavill's DC departure surprisingly triggered a lot of DC enthusiasts. leading to a backfire. The artwork's glaring omission of Christopher Reeve's iconic Superman sparked outrage, with fans expressing disappointment and frustration.

The snub reignited debates about a lot of hiccups that the universe had been facing since as far as fans can remember, but most importantly about DC's handling of its beloved characters.

Snyderverse fans remained skeptical, feeling DC's attempts to appease them were insincere after previously dismissing Henry Cavill's Superman. Critics also cited a pattern of hype followed by disappointment, accusing DC of laziness. Others worried that the upcoming Superman projects would be more of the same unoriginal content. Fans were especially outraged to see Christopher Reeves snubbed in any multiverse or crossover concepts.

Given the rapid change of faces, some even feared that the picture would get more crowded over time, thus losing the weight of the character. Not to mention the Henry Cavill stans, who were already upset about having their high hopes for future Wolverine projects, marred.
