Prime Video landed a masterstroke with the satirical superhero television series called The Boys. The show has been monumental in portraying a world of twisted vigilantes and has become a fan favorite since it first aired. Despite leaving fans on a cliffhanger with unanswered questions from season 3, Eric Kripke's sudden announcement of a fifth-season conclusion has raised eyebrows about the fate of its fourth installment.

With three successful seasons under its belt, it appears The Boys has already faced a setback before its grand finale.

Prior to the premiere of The Boys season 4, showrunner Eric Kripke announced that the R-rated superhero series would conclude with its fifth season in a post on X, which included a redacted copy of the script for season 4's finale. However, shortly after these announcements, The Boys debuted with a Tomatometer score of 80% for its fourth season, marking the lowest approval rating so far for any season of the show.

The Boys Season 1 premiered with an 85% Tomatometer score and a 90% audience score. Season 2 achieved a high rating of 97% on the Tomatometer but received 83% from the audience. Season 3 continued the trend with a 98% Tomatometer score and a 75% audience score. While the fourth season lacks an audience score, it appears to be the sole glimmer of hope amidst declining ratings.
