The 4th of July, although bygone, has brought along with it poignant memories for generations to cherish. And we are not getting over them anytime soon. As America basks in the heartfelt celebrations of the annual celebration of nationhood, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, although with roots in Britain, have a special history to this day. The self-exiled couple from the House of Windsor never made secret their love for America.

In light of the same, here is a throwback to one of the “bittersweet” days during their initial period of courtship. As described by the Duchess in the Netflix bombshell herself, the story goes back seven years down the line in the romance of the military Prince and the Suits Actress

The couple was in their butterfly days of early romance. Although they succeeded in keeping their young love under wraps until the rapacious media got down their necks, they had already had the best of their dating life before it came under the microscopic lens of the paps.

In the six-part docuseries, Markle disclosed a speech she gave during their wedding reception at Frogmore House. According to her, their second date occurred precisely on the 4th of July. The specialty about it was how it was not exactly a genuine date since the vibe was off until they fixed it for their good.

The day screamed how it was about “Her country’s Independence from his country.” Yet the two, madly in love, were sure that they “did not want to be independent of each other.” And thus, Markle’s Prince won her heart yet again for the second time in a row by bringing her cupcakes until he kept winning her forever. 

Let’s call it a modern fairytale, as the Duchess calls it, cherishing their love in the most talked about Netflix blockbuster.

The controversial show Harry & Meghan undoubtedly gathered much hatred and backlash from the anti-Sussex masses. However, before catapulting into their severed ties with the Royal Family, the couple was all about how they had fallen head over heels for each other. There was not a single hour where the two were not grateful for having each other in their life. 

Describing their first meet-up until the present day, the two narrated all the highs and lows of their marriage. Although the lows were ridiculously a lot in proportion, the two managed to withstand it all. At present, the couple, along with their two children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 2, live a life on the sunny side of California, giving their kids “a normal life” away from the royal limelight and media frenzy.
