Although tabloids often ink what is abundant in their lives—controversies and criticism—Markle's close friend, Tyler Perry, brought a change of pace to the narrative at the Paley Honors Gala. Amidst concerning updates of fleeting bliss, Perry arrived with a rare insight into the lives of Sussexes. 

While the Duke already had the swipes ready for the rumor mills, Perry shut them in quite the style by providing an intimate glimpse into their family life.

Godfather to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s daughter, Princess Lilibet, Tyler Perry, was honored with the Paley Honors Award at the Paley Honors Falls Gala. Speaking to E! News at the prestigious event, the filmmaker wore his heart on his sleeve for the Sussexes, who, he confirmed, were as deeply in love as they were when it all began. “They have a beautiful family,” Perry stated, gushing about Markle, Prince Harry, and their two children, wishing them the “best.”

Perry also talked about his own relationship with them, calling it “a real, pure, and beautiful friendship.“ Momentarily veering off course, leaning on the fast-approaching festive season, Perry touched on his godfather duties, explaining that these responsibilities do not necessarily stretch into decking up with extravagant gifts for his goddaughter or Prince Archie. In fact, this viewpoint extends to his son, as he believes one should not be granted everything just by virtue of one's birth.

While tough love is a hallmark of any good parent’s philosophy, only love filled the air for Perry’s special day, since the Duchess showed up for her friend.

Meghan Markle was caught making a rare public appearance on December 4 to have Tyler Perry’s back at the Paley Honors Fall Gala in Los Angeles. The Duchess walked the red carpet with the man of the evening and sat next to him inside the Beverly Wilshire event. As per The Hollywood Reporter, the Duke and the Duchess were both on the event’s host committee. 

The Duchess turned heads in an Oscar de La Renta strapless gown, paired with a custom Logan Hollowell necklace, Cartier Love necklace, Lorraine Schwartz and Engender rings, and Celine Kitten heels. While Prince Harry was attending The New York Times Dealbook Summit, where he put to rest the divorce rumors, Perry’s insights further reinforced this, offering a unique perspective on the Sussexes' loving relationship.
