The king of comedy and action, Ryan Reynolds has achieved more in his four decades on Earth than most of us do in our lifetimes. The Canadian actor has branched out more than a canopy, following through on all that he ever wished to pursue. From investing in almost a dozen ventures to generating employment through his philanthropic endeavors, the 46-year-old does his part in every community he comes in contact with. And his efforts have not gone unnoticed by his home country.

His government bestowed upon Reynolds an honor reserved for the most illustrious of British Columbia’s civilians. His province, like his fans, has recognized all he does for the people of Canada, especially his home state.

The Marvel superhero is now considered a real-life hero

As reported by the Global Village Space, among the fourteen people who were appointed to the Order of British Columbia for 2023 is none other than Hollywood’s very own Ryan Reynolds. From campaigning for Covid-19 best practices, running a marathon for Parkinson’s, and fundraising for cancer patients, the Deadpool actor has done it all.

The father of four alongside his wife Blake Lively has donated to various initiatives as well. Including but not limited to campaigns like clean water for indigenous tribes, refugees from Ukraine, and healthcare NGO Partners in Health. Yet, the list just goes on. Aside from assisting non-profit organizations, the power couple has pioneered some of their own.

Also addressing the shortcomings of the entertainment industry, they started two co-operatives. Aiming to help artists and under-represented groups, both initiatives are doing exceptional work.

Reynolds doesn’t just focus his energies on the many endeavors that he supports. In 2020, he launched the Group Effort Initiative with Lively to help communities that Hollywood often overlooks. The initiative works alongside the LGBTQ+ and other minorities that struggle with finding work in the entertainment business. Just yesterday, the GEI celebrated its third anniversary.

Meanwhile, another initiative Reynolds co-founded in 2022 was The Creative Ladder. Through it, the Free Guy actor hopes to foster creativity in the youth and empower them to build careers through their various talents.
