Appearing on the Capital Evening Show with Jimmy Hill, Nicholas Hoult shared a humorous anecdote from the Nosferatu sets that put his patience to the test. "The one time I've been a diva on set was when there was a scene that I was meant be eating ice cream," he said. He took a bite, expecting a sweet treat, but was shocked to find it was fake ice cream made of lard mixed with food coloring and sugar.
Hoult revealed that he initially thought eating ice cream on set would be a treat, but the fake version was unbearable. He eventually reached his limit and could not continue with the scene, forcing him to wait on set until the crew obtained real ice cream for him to proceed. While the confession sounded all fun and games, Hoult pressed on to reveal the sometimes uncomfortable aspects of his job, giving fans a glimpse into the realities of filming.
That, however, was not all that Hoult had to endure. Recalling another such incident, he revealed the one time he had to deal with real-life rats, not in tens or hundreds but in thousands.

Nicholas Hoult further revealed that the rats used in the filming were real, with some scenes featuring scanned-in digital rats in the background. However, the majority of the time, the rats were real, and the actors had to interact with them. What came worse was that Hoult's co-stars Emma Corrin and Bill Skarsgårdhad to deal with rats physically, which Hoult admitted made him uncomfortable.
Hoult shared his own experience of working with the rats, recalling a scene with Corrin, where they had to endure the rodents crawling all over them. He described the smell of the rats as "quite rich" due to not being house-trained, which obviously added to the challenge of filming. However, while Hoult thought he deserved a gift to have gone through all that, was all the more weird, being the perfect little souvenir from the cast.
