When Henry Cavill Proved His Love for ‘The Witcher’ and Deeply Internalized Geralt of Rivia
Henry Cavill always puts all his efforts on when he takes a role in his hands. This is the reason when he hung the cape of Superman fans could not cope with it for months. The British superstar incarnated the iconic character that viewers did not want anyone else to take from him. He worked for months on his physical appearance to get that convincing superhero look. The same goes for his other fan-favorite role, Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher. Sadly, he stepped down from both the roles, passing the torch to Liam Hemsworth as While Wolf and David Corenswet as Superman.
Long before that heart-wrenching moment, he proved his love for The Witcher and character in an interview. The way he internalized the White Wolf, no one can do that no matter how hard they try.

Months before the release of The Witcher Season 1 on Netflix, Henry Cavill talked about his character at the 2019 Hall H panel at the San Diego Comic Con. Being an avid gamer and diehard fan of the video game adaptations of this fantasy saga, he was well aware of the character. The 40-year-old explained the monster slayer has two contradictory personalities.
According to him, the mutant was always very tough on the outside because he believed the world was like that. However, from the inside, he had imagination of what the world could be. “So there’s moral decisions he makes along the way and all of them get him in trouble,” added the Man of Steel alum. Through this, the Jersey-born star described how this character was an amalgamation of many things yet believed in compassion.
Well, fans saw in three seasons how he justified all those words and presented the best version of Geralt on the screen. In fact, the Netflix star has gone to extremes to prove his love for the role that threatened his career.

In December 2020, Henry Cavill got injured in the UK while shooting the second season of the Netflix series. The reports revealed he hurt his leg performing on an assault course strapped into a harness. One year after that incident, the Immortals star spoke to the Hollywood Reporter about it. In the interview, he stated his muscles ripped so badly he had to take therapies for many weeks.
Despite that, he continued to do stunts because he did not want to take a break and delay the production. But things became more painful and feared that it would end his action career if he pushed himself too hard. So the action hunk pushed all the action sequences at the end of the shooting to give himself a little rest.
