‘Stranger Things’ Star Matthew Modine Swings by the Los Alamos Film Festival While Season 5 Runs Into a Hiccup
Stranger Things is dangling the final battle just out of reach. Earlier this year, fans were over the moon to learn that filming for Season 5 had kicked off. With a flood of behind-the-scenes photos and exciting snippets emerging from the sets of Stranger Things, it seemed like the show's release was just around the corner. However, fans may have jumped the gun in their celebrations too soon, as the creators had a disappointment in store.
As reports of the delay in Stranger Things season 5’s release began to circulate, Matthew Modine, known for playing Dr. Martin Brenner on the show, celebrated the culture of cinema.

The Los Alamos Film & Culture Festival (LAFCF) concluded its much-anticipated week-long celebration last week at Fuller Hall, where Christopher Nolan shot Oppenheimer. It spotlighted cinema from across the world, while also bringing together movie buffs, industry insiders, and enthusiasts to partake in a cinematic journey filled with thought-provoking discussions and special moments. Matthew Modine also joined the festival and was seen interacting with the crowd, delivering speeches, and posing with attendees. The actor also received his first annual Golden Poplar Award at the festival.
Although it seemed as if Matthew Modine’s character, Dr. Brenner, has met his maker in Season 4, the actor is keeping his fingers crossed for an unexpected revival in Stranger Things Season 5, as he mentioned in an earlier interview with RadioTimes. Considering that no one actually saw him dying as he was just lying there in the dirt and that he managed to dodge the Demogorgon in the past, he might even make a comeback for the grand finale. But that is likely to take some time, with all the delays.
Recent comments from a cast member of Stranger Things have contributed to the ongoing speculation regarding another potential delay for the show.

Recently, Maya Hawke revealed in an interview with TheWrap at the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo that the show is still in the first third of filming its last season.“I bet it will go late”, said the 25-year-old. Nearly a month after Stranger Things season 4's second volume premiered, the writing on the final season got underway. Even though the Hollywood strikes put forth some obstacles in it, Netflix confirmed that production had bounced back earlier this year.
This means it will be at least a year before fans can catch the final showdown between Vecna and the Hawkins gang. Though there is no set release date, judging from past seasons, many fans are eyeing a summer 2025 premiere for Stranger Things Season 5. And that is when fans will get to find out whether Dr. Brenner has managed to cheat death once again.
