Welcome to Wrexham premiered on August 24, 2022, and its second season aired last year. Both seasons received approval ratings of over 90 percent along with highly favorable reviews. While fans were eagerly awaiting the third season, which was announced in November last year, Welcome To Wrexham claimed the title of Best Sports Show by the Critics Choice Association, leaving behind legendary documentaries like 30 for 30 and Quarterback.

The nominations also included The Dynasty: New England Patriots, Real Sports With Bryant Gumbel, and Netflix’s Untold, all of which were bested by the FX series. This marked Welcome to Wrexham's second award this year, following its win at the Producers Guild of America Awards for Outstanding Producer of Non-Fiction Television. While fans are eagerly waiting to see Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney uplift Wrexham’s spirit in the third season, they are also counting down to their joint appearance in the MCU.
