The White Lotus season 3 stars recently stepped out for a dreamy Los Angeles premiere at Paramount Studio. Deadline approached Netflix actor, Aimee Lou Wood, on the red carpet to get her insights about her forthcoming collaboration with Mike White. Wood’s first task on the set was to understand what White wanted to bring through Chelsea. Wood thought White was “cynical” as a person at first, but it took her a deep dive to watch his optimistic, “mischievous, and playful” side.

Wood feels this is the very energy White wants to bring via Chelsea in the upcoming installment. She knew right from the get-go the complexities The White Lotus brings with its ensemble piece, and to see where Chelsea fits in the narrative was her priority. Having been a superfan of the show herself, Wood wanted to bring justice to White’s imagination. But the best part? Even Chelsea was unaware of why she was at The White Lotus initially, granting her the liberation of just living in the moment as the newcomer.

This, however, was not the only time Aimee Lou Wood cheered Mike White’s aspirations with The White Lotus.

As The White Lotus stars graced the Los Angeles premiere just days ahead of the third season’s release, many left the fans spellbound with the aura and energy they brought to set the stage. But before Aimee Lou Wood opened up about Mike White’s ambitions with Chelsea, she stressed it in a separate interview with ELLE. “This season feels different in a great way,” the Netflix star said.

Projecting the spotlight on White, Wood was absolutely floored to learn how he excels an artist’s “awful habits” with “humor and specificity.” Although Wood watched her steps, she let slip that Chelsea was neither a staff nor a guest. “She feels a bit like the audience,” she added, noting that even though she visits, she does not belong. While Wood maximized every opportunity in her way to fan the flames for The White Lotus season 3 and White, it remains to be seen if this season makes the most of its February flight.
