Meghan Markle Starrer ‘Suits’ and Netflix’s ‘One Piece’ Pitched in Tight Race to Secure No. 1 Spot in Streaming Charts
One Piece was definitely a breath of fresh air among the string of underwhelming manga live adaptations of Netflix. With the true-to-source adaptation, the OTT giant regained the confidence of its streamers. Developed by Matt Owens and Steven Maeda, the series went on to break the debut record of popular shows like Stranger Things and Wednesday. While the show shines with enormous viewership on Netflix, it is in a cutthroat race with Meghan Markle’s 2011 legal drama series.
It has been four years since the fan-favorite show, Suits, aired its last episode. However, the Aaron Korsh drama is still generating buzz among fans, giving One Piece a real challenge.

Suits shot to fame owing to its masterful character work and great storylines. With a 91% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the legal drama received tremendous praise from both critics and the audience. The award-winning show started to lose its popularity after the two major leads, Markle and Patrick J. Adams, took their departure. However, based on the recent reports by Nielson, it looks like Suits is still winning over fans.
With 2.5 billion minutes of viewership, Suits emerged as the top pick among the streamers, defeating the Eiichiro Oda adaptation. If the show continues to hold the top spot for another week, it will beat the record of Ozark with the most number of top spot finishes. One Piece, on the other hand, ended up in the second spot with 1.3 billion minutes of viewership on Nielson’s ranking.
The recent buzz surrounding a reboot of Suits could also be the contributing factor to such an enormous viewership this week.
Will the Meghan Markle show get a reboot?
Suits broke many Netflix records after the streaming giant decided to add the legal drama to its library. The show also holds significant value for the fans of the Duchess, who had to leave her acting career behind due to her duties to the royal family. Thanks to her on-screen love interest, Adams, the buzz surrounding a possible reboot for the 2011 show became the talk of the town again.
