Meghan Markle Plots Her Course for the Last Lap of Her Hefty Netflix Contract
The Duchess of Sussex’s potential Hollywood comeback has been a hot topic for what feels like forever. The only tie Meghan Markle had to the world of celluloid was her multi-million dollar deal with Netflix. After leaving the royal fold behind, the Duchess, along with her Duke, Prince Harry, churned out quite a few talked-about series and documentaries with the streaming giant. However, according to recent reports, the five-year contract does not appear to have a renewal after 2025.
While everybody knows that the Sussexes are working on a few projects with Netflix, Meghan Markle could also be gearing up to become the lifestyle queen in what is reportedly her final year with the streaming platform.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s deal with Netflix has been active since 2020. However, last month, some rumors started to surface about the Sussexes making a Netflix-to-Paramount jump. It all started after they were seen hanging out with the Paramount CEOs at the Bob Marley: One Love premiere. While fans were busy concocting theories about what they could be working on, Page Six revealed Markle’s intention to “take on” America’s lifestyle queens: Ina Garten, Martha Stewart, and Joanna Gaines.
Sources told the publication this is how the Duchess intends to spend her final year with Netflix. At present, the Sussexes are teaming up with Netflix to bring Carley Fortune’s acclaimed book, Meet Me By the Lake, to life. Meanwhile, Prince Harry is also in talks for a documentary about traveling to Africa. While Markle would likely be behind the camera in these projects, fans were really counting on a comeback from the 42-year-old actress in a Suits reboot. However, recently, a co-star threw a bucket full of water on this buzz.

Meghan Markle was once the highlight of Aaron Korsh’s legal drama series, Suits. When Korsh announced working on a reboot, Suits: LA, fans who were waiting for Markle’s comeback, could not contain their excitement at the prospect of her return to the small screen. However, recently, Rachael Harris opened up about her discussion on the casting of the ongoing NBC project to Mirror. Upon learning about the reboot, Harris reached out to the director to explore her potential involvement in the series.
Korsh, however, made it very clear that “no one from the previous cast is going to be in Suits: LA“. Along with Harris’s snub from the show, this statement also crushed any hopes of seeing Markle on the show. Although the Duchess will likely not return to the screen as an actress, she is definitely gearing up for something big in the final year with her $100 million Netflix deal.
