Royal expert Neil Sean, in a video for his YouTube channel, called Markle’s show a "frame-for-frame" copy in some cases. Aside from the similar titles, critics pointed out the almost identical concepts, language, and overall aesthetics in the trailers for both shows. Anderson’s trailer, released in October 2024, featured clips of her in a garden and kitchen, saying she loved cooking and wanted to take it to the next level. Similarly, Markle’s trailer showed her cooking and picking produce, with a similar statement about elevating ordinary things. Sean noted that Markle’s show clearly drew inspiration from Anderson’s cookery program. However, this is not the first time Markle has faced such allegations, as similar claims arose during her As Ever brand launch.
With a major brand comeback underway, Markle aimed to reshape her once beloved The Tig into a refined lifestyle empire. However, a naming issue complicated her ambitious plans.

With Netflix cameras documenting the journey, it appeared to be a success. However, Markle's intentions were derailed when a small vintage shop owner disclosed that he had been using the As Ever moniker for almost eight years, according to The Sun.

Mark Kolski, a small business owner with no legal team, found himself in a battle with a duchess backed by significant resources. He emphasized that his business was a modest, family-run venture. Despite lacking a trademark, Kolski refused to change his company’s name. He held on to the belief that common law rights would protect his brand, but ultimately, the overwhelming power of a royal-backed rebrand left him with few options.
