Speaking to Josh Horowitz, on his Happy, Sad, and Confused podcast, Joseph Quinn spoke of his career options that have followed his fame from Stranger Things. “I'm so grateful to be able to have a bit more choices,” he said, adding how he went from a no one, being unsure of the Duffer Brothers’ decision to cast him as Eddie Munson, to a responsible star who now has the space of choosing his projects wisely.
Joseph Quinn acknowledges the weight of responsibility that comes with fame but also embraces the freedom of being selective with his projects. He views his ability to say no and craft his own career path as a "gift and luxury" that he hopes to never lose. With this newfound freedom, the actor made a conscious choice to take on A Quiet Place: Day One, a role that excites him.
While the freedom to choose the roles he wants came with Stranger Things' fame, that was not it for him. The actor also got a chance to meet music icons, Snoop Dogg and Taylor Swift.

Joseph Quinn reflected on his experiences after Season 4, recalling the surreal environment of award shows frequented by industry heavyweights in the podcast. He remembered being star-struck at the MTV Awards ceremony, where he spotted Snoop Dogg. "It was a surreal environment," Quinn said, still in awe. His younger cast mates, whom he affectionately called "Stone Cold Pros," took him under their wing, teaching him award-show etiquette.
Joseph Quinn's education, however, did not prevent a cringe-worthy encounter with Taylor Swift. Though he did not divulge details, Quinn hinted at an awkward exchange where the two had a few exchanges of words. Followed by a chuckle, Quinn shared how he is gradually embracing the learning experience, recognizing the value of his newfound knowledge and experiences.
