At just 18 years old, Freya Allan shook up Hollywood with her breakthrough in The Witcher. With the show gaining steam season by season, Allan’s Hollywood journey also picked up pace with exciting projects, including the upcoming Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. However, one thing that has been a staple in nearly all her projects is their connection to fantasy. While the now 22-year-old has shown time and again that she is a pro with magic, supernatural, mythology, and folklore, she now seems ready to spread her wings.

Allan has her sights set on stepping up her acting game beyond The Witcher, even though she has a soft spot for this genre.

Freya Allan recently starred in the horror thriller Baghead, which was another dark tale mixed with fantasy. She played the role of Iris, a girl inheriting a dilapidated pub only to uncover a shape-shifting demon lurking in its depths. While talking to NME about the fourth season of The Witcher, she shared her craving for a change from the supernatural. She yearned for a role that was purely about acting, devoid of any frills or fancies. “I definitely think I’m drawn to the dark stuff”, said the English actress.

The actress, however, put it straight that she is now looking to dabble in a bit of everything and expand her reach into all sorts of “realms”. Yet, Ciri will forever remain close to her heart as she feels a certain kinship with the character. Ciri’s longing for doing more than what is attainable is a sentiment that resonates with Allan. “I’m like Ciri: I want to do everything”, said Allan once, as shared by Netflix Queue. And from her interview with NME, it became clear that Ciri will shine her brightest in the fourth season of The Witcher.

In her interview, Allan hinted that the upcoming chapter will be unlike anything seen before, especially for Ciri. The actress teased that Ciri’s journey is going to take a drastically different turn in the franchise ahead.

Freya Allan confessed to feeling both thrilled and a bit “scared” as well, about bringing that aspect of Ciri to life and the transformation she will be going through in the next season. However, despite this mix of feelings, Allan is “extremely grateful” for the interesting character arc her role got in the franchise.
