“I’ll pretend I didn’t hear it” – Back When Jennifer Aniston Had a Surprise for ‘Friends’ Fans
Jennifer Aniston has been among the most candid actors in the Friends cast. Her counterpart is, of course, Matthew Perry, but his book gets into that quite a lot. The 10 years spent on the sets created a huge impact on the actors’ lives. One thing synonymous with the six reckless goofy friends is their famous coffee shop, Central Perk. No matter what conspired, they made assembling at the cafe their anchor. Be it frustration from work, or many secret confessions, the orange couch saw it all. And as expected, the coffee shop remains one of the favorite spots on the set tours for fans.
Keeping up with her usual friendly candor and smile on her face, Jennifer Aniston once had a surprise for the show’s fans.

On a fans’ tour day on the Warner Bros. Friends set three years ago, Jennifer Aniston happened to be present in the same area for Ellen DeGeneres’s The Ellen Show. While fans enjoyed the Central Perk coffee shop set and took pictures, Aniston decided to surprise them. She hid behind the couch as the tour guide candidly asked the unsuspecting fans’ questions. Setting them up for a jump scare, the cameraman pumped the fans up for a photo. A geeky “Lights, camera and latte” was followed by Aniston popping up from behind them.
The fans visibly screamed in excitement as Aniston pretended to be offended by their answer, Ross, to the “Who’s your favorite Friends member?” question. The Murder Mystery actress replied from behind, “I’ll pretend I didn’t hear it.” One pair took a minute to comprehend who photo-bombed. They asked, “Is it really, really you? Is it a mask or anything?”
The lucky fans later got to join Aniston on The Ellen Show’s sets. While Aniston captivated the audience and fans, she also promoted her series, which featured the interesting world of morning TV.

The Morning Show starred award-winning Reese Witherspoon, The Office’s Steve Carell, and Luke Cage’s Karen Pittman among others. This drama series was based on the stories and culture behind morning news programs. It covered areas of misconduct, power dynamics, and much more. At the premiere of Murder Mystery 2, Aniston teased the show’s viewers, saying “Everybody has a secret…There’s some twists and turns—there’s romance. You’ll see the show, it’s so much fun. He’s wonderful, brilliant.”
This Apple TV+ series is also famously dubbed Morning Wars in some countries. While it has already been renewed for the fourth season, the third season will air on September 13.
