Freya Allan was just 17 when she landed her role in The Witcher. Ever since, she has been weaving her magic across four seasons of the Netflix hit and as her character, Ciri. The latest season of Lauren Hissrich’s show really brought out the best in the British actress. Although the third installment did not quite capture the same charm as the first one, Allan’s widely praised performance as Ciri has never faltered. And therefore, it was not surprising when the 22-year-old landed a role in another major franchise, Planet Of The Apes. 

As Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes is about to hit theaters, the actress revealed one key thing that aided her in portraying both Ciri and Mae.

On Thursday, Freya Allan showed up at the LA premiere of the Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes at TCL Chinese. On the red carpet, the actress fielded questions about her roles in two of her major projects, The Witcher and the upcoming release. When asked how she connects with her characters from both franchises by Deadline, Allan revealed that regardless of how different they may be from her real life, “you have always got a bit of a toolbox of your own life” to draw inspiration from.

She shared that as an actor, one can always draw from those relatable bits of life to connect with the characters. Allan finds common ground with Ciri and Mae through their shared determination in life. While the Baghead star certainly has plenty of wisdom to offer about acting, she is not afraid to show her lighter, less serious side at times.

Freya Allan, in sharp contrast to the characters she typically plays, has a fun-loving side to her that she recently brought to the fore.

Freya Allan is someone who can be elegant and goofy at the same time. Her social media stories often feature her letting loose, dancing, or goofing around. In the midst of promoting Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes, she shared a fun video on her Instagram story, playfully vibing in her trailer van. And given her statement of being "drawn to the dark stuff", it was surprising yet refreshing to see this light-hearted side of hers.

As she stepped out of the trailer while goofily dancing, the actress could not help but exclaim, "Oh yeah!" While Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is just six days away from release, production on The Witcher season 4 is already underway. And it will be interesting to see how she puts her "tool box" to use this time around.
