To the unaided eye, the royalty of Britain could just be one more remnant from the days of the old kingdoms. However, with its rich history and lasting imprint as one of the world’s oldest monarchies, it still finds cultural relevance. Add to it the fervent and ever-widening split between its recent two factions and the cocktail becomes too hard to ignore. In its recent history, no royal member has broken as much discord and protocols as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The duo, who are on the receiving side of ire owing to their media deals, once offered a look into their day without royal rules at play.

That time Meghan Markle ushered in a rare public view of her beach look

The intricacies of rules that a British royal adheres to are essentially what makes them stand apart in etiquette. It was well documented by Suits star, Gina Torres when Meghan Markle wed Prince Harry. However, the estranged couple has strayed away from keeping up with those rules ever since their “financial independence” split from London. In the December 2022, episode six of their Netflix docu-series, Harry & Meghan, the Duchess, sported a designer black scallop swimsuit with the Prince walking by in the background.

Designed by Maria Dobrzanska Reeves, the + NET SUSTAIN Palm Springs look adorned the former Suits actress. In a sharp departure from her usual quiet outfits, the look, though brief, gave followers a look into their day at the beach. The clip also included Prince Harry in a white shirt, walking about the shore with towels in his tow. Finally, the Duchess completed the look with black sunglasses and a plaid straw hat.

While the couple seems to be happy after the Megxit, the near year saw tensions between Prince Harry and Prince William reaching an all-time low.

Prince William and Prince Harry have grown resentful of one another

The relationship between the two warring brothers plummeted ever since the Duke of Sussex, made alarming claims of his older brother plunging at him. Close on the heels of his and Meghan Markle’s bombshell Opera Winfrey interview, his memoir, Spare, did irreparable damage. Coming in as another sharp cut of the knife, the Sussexes’ continued relations with Netflix came, much to the chagrin of the Duke of Cambridge.

Claiming rampant and indiscriminate exploitation of the royal family by the streaming giant with its The Crown series and the Sussexes’ documentary, Prince William’s friends shared how he despised every bit of it. However, the estranged duo has only made further inroads with the same. Their 5 years $100 million deal with the streamer still stands with more content on the tow.
