A weekend or even a weekday night, is admittedly best sealed with a warm plate of food and the even warmer feeling that only a good romcom flick can give. And even, even warmer, when you get to cut down on the internet scouring and simply wait for the familiar "tudum" to die down and make way to the 2000's film of your choice. One that you could consider watching this March could be the very, 50 First Dates starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore.
With an already declared one-of-the-bests in the Hollywood filmography, Netflix's nth knit-picked selection to expand its vault of 2000's movies looks like a surefire promise of a good time.

At the time their second-most shooting together, but another brick to the already strong chemistry was surely the 50 First Dates that today's generation is a witness to. Set to be dropped on the streaming platform on March 1st, 2025, the movie is Netflix's twenty-third addition to its plethora of Adam Sandler flicks, which was counted as twenty-two, as of Janaury 1st, 2025, by What'sOnNetflix.com.
50 First Dates follows an ex-marine Henry Roth who keeps his social circle wound tight around barely five-six people, with an extra if he happens to fancy a tourist for the night. But only the night. Things begin to change after his encounter with Lucy Whitmore suffering from anterograde amnesia which does not allow her to remember Henry no matter how many times he reintroduces himself to her. The tactics that ensue after Henry (played by Adam Sandler) observes to get Lucy (played by Drew Barrymore), to remember him carries the film to its sweet ending.
Adam Sandler has been a staple in Hollywood's chick-flick genre, having cemented himself as either a hilarious dad or a barely nonchalant guy at the beginning of every documentation of life-changing romance.
Adam Sandler: the heart of every laugh
Similar to many an actor that we today witness frolicking on the big screen, Adam Sandler had marked his comedic prowess right there at the homey stages of SNL in the 80's to 90's, Sandler's career in the showbiz industry can be distinguished by none other than his long hours of off-beat skits such as the Chanukah Song and the his peculiar Opera Man that made him a constant shrill of voice spilling out the television. Sandler's time at the SNL was one of its kind, until his departure from the show in 1995, but with a boost loaded for his acting career.

The addition of 50 First Dates is going to ensure the safekeeping of the now becoming rare memories of the 2000's, of seemingly simpler and easier times, and even if not, at least the reason for a good laugh, or maybe a tear. But with Netflix on the lookout, collecting as many as can be, there is still hope left in sight.
