Zendaya Drops Jaws to the Floor as She Revives 70s’ Cher at Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

In the ticking world of stardom, every day is a celebration when artists become as exceptional as their art. However, to keep that reputation through and through without faltering while the new tries to outgrow the old, that perhaps sets an artist truly a class apart. Hence, as the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame rolled out the carpet for one of its most legendary artists, Cher, the tributes were as classic as her craftsmanship and, of course, couture. Yet, another star who stole the spotlight, turned the heads, and maybe even made the sparkles look dull was Zendaya, channeling a 70s Cher at the induction ceremony.

At the 39th Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Saturday at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio, Zendaya joined Cher in her most daring outfit, leaving little to the imagination in a sheer golden bodice with a crisscross halter neckline and straps tied across her midriff. The low-rise skirt beneath shone with intricate beading and striking gold details. According to Law Roach’s Instagram stories, it is the gold vintage Bob Mackie dress from Cher’s go-to designer’s fall 2001 couture collection, Foreign Intrigue.

The dress was reportedly the finale look on the runway during New York Fashion Week in February 2001 and styled alongside a white silk-satin trench coat, “embroidered in gold and diamond iridescent bugle beads and stones.” The Euphoria star also wore the coat on the red carpet before slipping out of it while inducting Cher before the rockstar performed ‘If I Could Turn Back Time’. While Cher is always famous for keeping it chic and unconventional, it appears the magic is, after all, contagious.

With fans now gasping for breath as Zendaya brings the fire on stage, it is easy to see why these are the homage and reincarnations they live for.

Fans are in awe over Zendaya’s inner Cher at Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony

If there is an artist who has made music and couture branch together like they are two sides of the same coin, it is one and only Cher. From the bejeweled unitards to her penchant for criss-cross strapped dresses, Cher has served up the fashion playbook for artists in the decades to come. And of course, she did not miss that beat even at the induction ceremony. However, Zendaya may have taken the couture pointers with the fashion revival of the moment and it is safe to say it hit home for fans.

While some were pleading with the fashion god to have some mercy, others were busy soaking that golden hour glow from Zendaya.

Some fans believe Zendaya may have taken the red carpet moment by a snatch and as for tribute, there may not have been anyone more fitting to do so. While the actor has this habit of winning over her fans in the most unique way possible, she may have inadvertently taken the hobby up by a notch this time.
