As per her revelation on the podcast, Will Smith was working with his son on the sets of The Karate Kid at that time and was yet to witness the boycott that he did following the Oscar debacle, yet he had the mindfulness to lend a shoulder. And thanks to Will Smith's advice, Keke Palmer did get through, and made a spectacular career for herself.
