Willow Smith graced the stage of Camp Flog Gnaw Bash in November last year, setting the tone for an evening of community. Her performance resonated with all Black femmes and anyone using music as an outlet and evolution through music. Will Smith shared a clip on his story, originally posted by Amazon Music, to showcase Willow’s powerful rendition of one of her first singles, ‘Wait a Minute!’ from the event. Willow collaborated with producer James Chul Rim to pen the song from her debut album ‘Ardipithecus’, released in the year 2015.

At the same event, Willow not only performed her newly released single ‘Alone’ but also shared the stage with her brother, Jaden, in a memorable guest performance of ‘Summertime in Paris’ from his album ‘ERYS’. Despite the absence of any caption in Will Smith’s story for Willow Smith, his pride in his daughter’s talent was unmistakable. While Will Smith has been offering support to his daughter with shoutouts on social media, Jada Pinkett Smith took steps to spiritually cleanse Willow’s soul.

Setting forth on an Eastern escapade driven by their mutual fascination with Indian spiritual customs, Jada and Willow immersed themselves in a sojourn in the heart of India. Widely recognized for their deep interest in Eastern traditions, especially Hinduism, the duo found themselves actively participating in the celebrations of Makar Sankranti, a Hindu festival known for its rich cultural significance. The mother-daughter pair reveled in the festivities at a retreat center, with neither Will nor Jaden in attendance. 

Amidst the calm setting of the Govardhan Eco Village, Willow captured moments with traditional objects significant to spiritual practices. Simultaneously, Pinkett Smith posted a touching message highlighting their service to underprivileged children. Willow shared updates on her Instagram, offering glimpses of their spiritual adventure. Her thread also featured her “swami” and new Indian friends, concluding with a special moment as she gracefully wore a saree.
