Stranger Things actor Matthew Modine recently took to his Instagram to share the poster of his 1985 film, Vision Quest, to thank Madonna. “Because I’m #crazyforyou – thank you @madonna,” the 65-year-old star captioned the snap reeking of their youthful charm. Vision Quest was released as Crazy for You in the UK and Australia, and on February 15, the film will mark 40 years of its release. The coming-of-age romantic comedy stars Modine, Michael Schoeffling, Ronny Cox, and Linda Florentino.
Madonna made her first major motion picture appearance in the flick, portraying a singer at a local bar where she performed ‘Crazy for You’ and ‘Gambler.’ In a bid to capitalize on Madonna’s rising fame and the popularity of her track, ‘Crazy for You,’ the film’s title was changed in certain countries, inadvertently cementing its cult classic reputation worldwide. While Modine’s complex dwellings in the Upside Down even gave him a pause, this recent recollection prompted a frenzied reaction.
With fans caught in nostalgia, they marked their attendance with a re-watch in the comments. But before diving headfirst into it, here is a lowdown on the plot of Vision Quest.
