In a recent interview with Despierta America, while promoting his latest project, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, Henry Cavill found himself talking about Shakira. The British actor openly admitted to being a fan of Shakira's talent and charm and put an end to any speculation about a hidden romance. “My hips don’t lie, she got that idea from me,” The Witcher star joked. He also talked about his fond memories of listening to Shakira's music on the radio while growing up.

"Yes, of course, I’m a fan of Shakira,” said Cavill. The rumors took off in 2015 when Cavill paused mid-interview to spot someone on the red carpet whom he believed was Shakira, at the New York premiere of The Man from U.N.C.L.E. He could not help but exclaim, "Is that Shakira?". What began as a simple fanboy moment soon morphed into a towering mountain of speculation. As it stands, any connection between them is purely a figment of fans' imaginations, as Cavill has been happily involved with his "proud girlfriend" for more than three years.

The constant speculations about his personal life, however, have been a source of frustration for Henry Cavill, and he has never been afraid to speak out about it. 

In the year 2021, Henry Cavill took to Instagram to address rumors and speculation about his personal and professional life. He implored fans to refrain from making negative assumptions and shared a photo of himself with his girlfriend Natalie Viscuso. Although he did not delve into specifics, reports suggest the speculation may have revolved around his relationship status with Viscuso. 

The actor got real and said that while it is easy to get sucked into online chatter and gossip, it causes harm to those he cares about. Despite hopes from some fans, Henry Cavill's heart already belongs to the Hollywood executive, making it clear that his feelings for Shakira are purely based on admiration and respect.
