In the past, this has even led her to take a break from her handles. Nonetheless, Gomez has been very open about her struggles with the media in her documentary, though it did not make much difference. Now, with the Emmy Awards coming up, she is facing yet another round of harsh criticism over something she barely has any control over. 

An X fan page dedicated to Gomez, @selovelena, recently showed off the outfit she might wear to the Emmys on September 16. It was a vintage black satin prom dress with a Valdrin Sahiti vibe. Gomez has been wearing a lot of black lately- she wore a black Rodarte gown at the Emilia Pérez premiere in Canada. And there is a chance that she might show up at the Emmys draped in a black cloak of elegance as well.

The Only Murders in the Building star is up for her first Emmy at the 2024 Emmy Awards- but just in case she does not win, she has got her fallback plan all set. She is also nominated as an executive producer of the show, which is competing for Outstanding Comedy Series for the third year in a row. With Gomez's third consecutive nomination for an outstanding comedy series, she is currently the most-nominated Latina producer in Emmy’s history. But even these achievements could not shield her from the relentless trolling from body-shamers.

The moment Selena Gomez’s potential Emmy attire began circulating, the trollers pounced on her with harsh criticism.

One might think that someone who has been under the public's gaze as long as Selena Gomez has would understand that sometimes the best way to deal with online trolls is to keep quiet. However, the ‘Who Says’ songstress decided to call her haters out anyway through a TikTok Live last year. Yet, looking at all the hate comments, it is clear that this move did little to change the situation.

Trolls were not the only ones making noise, though. There were also fans who showered Gomez with a wave of love.

While Gomez had stopped pretending the trolls did not bother her after her documentary series, Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me, social media continues to be a brutal world where kindness and decency seem to be in short and limited supply.
