The friendship between Taylor Swift and Sophie Turner dates back years. Along with Blake Lively, these Hollywood superstars formed a girl gang over five years ago that has consistently stood by each other through thick and thin; especially when one of them is going through a heartbreak. In the past, both Lively and Turner have spoken in Swift’s defense when the billionaire musician was critiqued for dating certain men. 

In 2023, it was Sophie Turner whose divorce from Joe Jonas demanded special love from her girlies. And it seems like she got what she needed from her girlfriends.

Just a little while ago, Sophie Turner shared a carousel of images on her Instagram page that showcased a peek into how she spent the majority of 2023 surrounded by her close group of female friends. Among them was an image of Turner, Taylor Swift, and a group of their friends at an NFL game of Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce. In the caption, Turner declared 2023 to be “the year of the girlies” for her. 

She even forecasted the current year to be “looking fairly consistent” with her previous year in the post. In September 2023, the Game of Thrones sensation officially divorced her ex, Joe Jonas. So, in that way, it certainly was a year she turned to her friends for support. During the time her divorce was being finalized, she spent more and more time with Swift and Lively. 

Over the last year, this three-member group spent more time than ever with each other.

In 2023, this trio of Hollywood’s ‘It Girls’ banded together like never before. Especially with all that unfolded in Swift’s life, from the Eras Tour to her relationship with Travis Kelce, her BFFs turned up to cheer for her at her concerts and her boyfriends’ NFL matches. Meanwhile, Swift supported them back with full vigor, like when she lent Turner and her children her home amidst the divorce. 

They also ganged up to head out for countless dinners and night-outs that were often captured by paparazzi. The most recent of which was Swift’s birthday bash in New York last month. Lately, Brittany Mahomes has become another addition to this girl group through her association with Swift. If Turner’s predictions turn out to be true, fans will see a lot more of these ladies together in 2024 as well.
