According to reports from News Nation, Meghan Markle attended the renowned Eras Tour last year on August 3 at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium alongside her friend Lucy Fraser. A fan herself, the former actress, had approached Taylor Swift for a photo opportunity to meet her in person. However, an insider revealed that the 'Lover' singer declined, citing that she was on "vocal rest".

Despite this incident last year, when Prince William brought his children Prince George and Princess Charlotte to the London leg of the Eras Tour this year, Swift not only met the royal family in person but also took a coveted backstage photo alongside Travis Kelce. Swift has maintained a longstanding friendship with Prince William and his wife, Princess Catherine. However, the differing treatment between them and Meghan Markle may have caused some tension for Markle.

According to a report from The Telegraph, Meghan Markle made efforts last year to involve Taylor Swift in her Archetypes podcast. The Duchess reportedly penned a "personal letter" to the singer, inviting her to appear on the podcast, but the invitation was regretfully declined by Swift's representative. Archetypes originally aired for a single season on Spotify, featuring 12 episodes with a lineup of star-studded guests including Serena Williams, Paris Hilton, and others. 

Even though the show was initially dropped from Spotify, Markle has since partnered with Lemonada Media to relaunch the series, with plans for a new podcast next year. While the news of the snub is not recent, the resurgence of reports coincides with Swift's interactions with Prince William and his children at the London stop of the Eras Tour, leading to the speculation that Swift may have aligned herself more closely with the royal family, though not necessarily with Markle.
