Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are famous for their distinctive influence in the fashion world. Known for their quirky and trendy fashionable bits and pieces, their lifestyle is the talk of the town day in and out. Hailing from the legacy of such couture visionaries, it would seem like their children would take inspiration from the familial pioneers of the industry. Given Kim’s social media posts being all studded with her children donning the most fashionable pieces, they do give us a moment to glue our eyes on.

However, the 10-year-old North West revealed that such assumptions might be just talk in the air. Her unique perspective of fashion is dictated by someone completely distinct, which to our surprise is neither Kim nor Ye.

North West reveals her style icon

North West recently did her first-ever solo magazine cover with the i-D Magazine for their fall/winter 2023 issue. Being the candid, cool personality she is, she was outspoken about her lifestyle and her choices, be it in fashion, sports, or even regarding herself. The 10-year-old fashion connoisseur confessed that currently her fashion and styling stem from within herself. On being asked who was her style icon, she replied, “Me”. Furthermore, she spilled some more beans on her current take on styling.

She also went on to talk about how her favorite thing in her wardrobe was the Michael Jackson jacket that Kim had gifted her for Christmas. The 10-year-old also clarified that even though her style icon is herself, if given a chance, she would raid on the clothes of her mother and father, given they fit her. This is something she seems to be doing with her father’s striped polo tee. 

This give and take of the young fashionista is not something that has been witnessed for the first time. If one could travel the time back, one could recall how once North West had schooled Ye on getting his statement pieces.

Being the millennial kid that hails from the lineage of the Kardashians and West, North West gives good competition to her preachers. And this surely is not the only instance where she was seen giving her two cents on styling to the head honchos. In a 2018 interview with Chicago’s Power 92, Kanye West confessed his daughter’s fashion advice impacted his styling amendments. Needless to say, even the owner of a billion-dollar sneaker line has a higher authority to answer to!

Ye revealed in the interview how as early as a 5-year-old, North West had educated him on wrapping a bubble dress. She allegedly said, “You didn’t hold the plastic right, you never gonna sell no clothes like this,”. As hilarious as it sounds, if that coming from a 5-year-old does not hold charts for her fashion statements in the future, then it is difficult to say what really would.
