BLACKPINK star Jennie has already conquered the K-pop world and made a name for herself in the global music scene as well. However, she intends to expand her boundaries. The pop star now has her sights set on the acting world as well. Jennie made her television debut last year with the HBO show The Idol. While K-pop fans all over the world tuned in huge numbers to see Jennie make her small-screen debut, the show ended up with mixed reviews.

The Idol, nonetheless, has apparently given a peek into Jennie’s own life through her role- a fact that not many had a clue about until now.

Jennie recently did a cover story for Harper’s Bazaar, where she talked about her role in HBO’s The Idol last year. Jennie played a recurring role as Dyanne, a backup dancer, in the Sam Levinson show. Having been deep in the music world and experiencing the grind of becoming a successful singer, Jennie has had firsthand experienced with the challenges her character faced on the show. She shared, “Having the idea of this evil person coming in and trying to manipulate, I’ve been in that world my whole life".

Jennie also shared that it was a breeze for her to portray the emotion of “wanting to become a super pop star,” given that she had walked that path herself before becoming a global sensation. Earlier this month, Jennie announced that she is set to release new solo music after partnering with Columbia Records. And Jennie is not the only BLACKPINK member venturing into a career independent of their band.

She struck a deal with Lloyd to make this dream a reality, following in the footsteps of her fellow bandmate. She also made her Hollywood debut with The White Lotus Season 3- another HBO show- which is reportedly going to premiere next year. Last month, after wrapping up filming for the third season, Lisa took to Instagram to share her excitement.

During an Instagram Live with her collaborator Rosalía, Lisa eagerly shared that she has completed her shooting schedule for the series. She confirmed that she has done filming and is now focusing on her music career. However, Lisa kept details about her role under wraps.
