After Taylor Swift and Jo Koy’s Golden Globes Drama, Megyn Kelly Feels the ‘1989’ Singer Made the ‘Wrong Move’
While the 81st Golden Globe Awards marked triumphant festivities for fans of Oppenheimer and Succession, it also brought forth a saddening controversy for Taylor Swift fans. After a rather successful 2023, Swift found herself to be the butt of a joke by the event’s host, Jo Koy. When the comedian took a pass at the 12-time Grammy winner’s excessive coverage at NFL games, Swift was less than pleased by it all. The controversy has certainly captured viewers’ interest as netizens debate whose side they are on.
Amidst it all, talk show host Megyn Kelly has given her two cents.

Earlier today, SiriusXM’s Megyn Kelly took to the mic of The Megyn Kelly Show to rip into Swift’s response to the quip by Koy. According to her, the comment was merely a “gentle swipe” and the 34-year-old made the “wrong move” by being so outraged about it. She also felt that Swift could have been a “good sport” about it to avoid such a scandal.
The host reasoned that Swift was not “incharge” of how the camera crew focuses on her in the first place. This sentiment was also mirrored by Jo Koy earlier who had clarified that the joke was about “less cutaways”. Well, Kelly felt that if she was “smart” she would simply “laugh” like she was in on the joke about something that was never “her fault”.
Not only Kelly but another renowned talk show host had similar views on the subject.

In a recent segment of the popular talk show series, The View, Sara Haines voiced her opinion on this entire debacle while rallying behind Koy. She felt that privileged Hollywood personalities needed to stop attacking comedians like Koy, who are “national treasures” and are meant to roast celebrities. According to Haines, Swift could have just smiled and went along with the harmless quip.
On the other hand, the majority of the audience also felt that Koy’s deliveries had failed to impress anyhow. Besides his attack on Swift, the comedian barely managed to get the event’s attendees laughing. Despite that, many have remained in his corner over the rift with Swift. Judging by the comments of these talk show hosts, the vote looks to be favoring Koy in Swift’s case.
