In a recent interview with The Face, Maya Hawke discussed all things Taylor Swift. When asked if she had plans to attend the Eras Tour or if she had already been, Hawke responded without hesitation, “Of course. Twice.” Reflecting on her status as a “lifelong fan” of the pop star further, Hawke began to fangirl, rattling the dictionary to find the right words for Swift. She described the tour as an “extraordinary” experience and expressed her amazement at Swift’s ability to perform a 3-hour concert.
Hawke noted that her sense of awe was not just because she has been a Swiftie all her life; even when she took her brother, the experience was equally mesmerizing. Having attended the tours in New Jersey and Nashville, Hawke was left spellbound, emphasizing how she is consistently astonished by Swift’s talents as a writer and performer, dubbing her a “Messiah.”
Despite being a Swiftie in all her auras, for her dad’s cameo in Taylor Swift’s ‘The Tortured Poets Department’, she may have remained out of the loop like her siblings.

Taylor Swift’s record-breaking 11th studio album, ‘The Tortured Poets Department,’ became a mini-reunion for the Dead Poets Society actors, thanks to her track ‘Fortnight’ featuring Post Malone. Maya Hawke’s father, Ethan Hawke, and Josh Charles reportedly kept the cameo under wraps from their children. During an appearance on The Late Show on May 6, Hawke disclosed that he had signed an NDA, preventing him from informing his kids about the project.
In a separate interview on The Tonight Show the next day, Josh Charles told Jimmy Fallon that Taylor Swift initially reached out to Maya Hawke to connect with the Dead Poets Society actors. Hence, it was ideally through the Stranger Things star that the actors reunited after over 30 years to portray mad scientists in the music video. Considering this timeline, it is possible that Maya Hawke knew about the cameo, albeit not all the specific details. Regardless, Hawke seems to have found her holy grail, and it is not her dad's cameo but Swift's Eras Tour.
