Ever since making her big move out of the castle, the actress has tried her hand at everything and anything in Hollywood, except for what she is known for best: acting. As the Sussexes drown in doubts worth millions of dollars, an acting endeavor is just the way to get the show on the road again.

The Duchess of Sussex recently signed with the WME Agency. And it looks like it is already putting in the work, as the former Suits actress piques the interest of Kevin Costner for his dream project.

Is Kevin Costner bringing Meghan Markle back to acting?

Meghan Markle only has Rachel Zane in Suits to fight her case when it comes to a major role, but with how amazing of a lawyer Zane is, she would still win. While the actress has said that she has done enough as an actor, Kevin Costner has just the project that may re-ignite her interest in acting. Costner has an unfulfilled penchant for getting royals on board. But with Meghan Markle, it might just come true.

“The only thing Kevin loves more than an underdog like Meghan is a box office hit,” a source close to Costner tells New Idea Magazine (via The News).

Given the recent fall of her Spotify podcast, Costner’s proposal could not have come at a more perfect time for Meghan Markle. And she seems to think so too as this could be the first big acting project since Megxit that seems to have her name on it.

The cherry on the top, however, is the project that Kevin Costner has in mind for her. It will not only be professionally fulfilling for Meghan Markle but also appease Prince Harry.

What is Meghan Markle’s comeback project?

It was in 2012, nearly two decades after the release of The Bodyguard, that Kevin Costner revealed that the studio was on par with him doing The Bodyguard 2. He was also pulling strings with the Duchess of York in order to convince the late Princess Diana to star in it. But the sequel did not just want Princess Diana’s acting but also her story as they wanted to base the plot on it, albeit loosely.

Things have come full circle for The Bodyguard 2, as Kevin Costner now looks onto Meghan Markle to play the role that he once pitched for her mother-in-law. The scrutiny, lack of privacy, stalkers, and media trials that were a part of Costner’s earlier plan also appear in Meghan Markle’s story. It would further give credibility to fans and Prince Harry, who draw parallels between the Duchess and Princess Diana.
