Not all have taken center stage, captivating audiences with blockbuster franchises. Some have woven subtle yet pivotal roles, flying under the radar. Take Zoe Saldana, renowned for her portrayal of Gamora, the complex and intriguing adopted daughter of Thanos. Though not always in the spotlight, characters like Gamora have also helped shape the Marvel legacy.

In her conversation for Variety's Cover story, Zoe Saldana expressed pride in her Marvel roles, noting their impact on younger audiences. "I know it's a Marvel movie... but I take great pride in knowing I was part of great films that cater to and inspire a younger audience," she said. She further stated how ‘deep’ characters and Marvel do not run along quite well. However, she felt fortunate enough to add to the franchise's ability to shape young minds.

However, the fanbase is as just as it could be. Fans rallied around Saldana, objecting to a backlash against her comments. They argued that Marvel stars deserve to take pride in their work, without criticism. Supporters called out those responsible for diminishing Saldana's achievement, emphasizing the value of Marvel films in inspiring younger generations.

One took to write,  “I blame Martin Socrcsece” suggesting how instead of mocking them, industry professionals should contribute to improving their quality. Another cited how movies like The Dark Knight, X2, and X-Men: Days of Future Past as examples of well-crafted CBMs, fans argue that these movies deserve respect. Another has even urged directors and actors to answer the call from Marvel or DC with thoughtful storytelling, rather than dismissing the genre entirely.

However, not all were up for lashing out at the director. Some even recalled how Martin Scorsese was the one who said Marvel movies are not cinema.

Hence, the backlash against him takes it to nowhere, claimed some even-minded fans Like actors who have made their resistance of the MCU hatred firmly public. However, coming back to Zoe Saldana, the actress has ruled out returning to Marvel after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but envisions a new, diverse Gamora. She hopes a "brown girl" will take over the role, bringing fresh energy, just as she did with Star Trek's Nyota Uhura.
