Henry Cavill was met with the opportunity to play Superman very early in his career. And this did what playing the Man of Steel is bound to do for a budding actor: make him an action movie staple. For most of his career, the actor has played the Man of Steel in DC or another variation of it. And despite having the knack and the opportunity to play Edward Cullen, he hardly ever played a romantic character. But whatever complaints fans have about Henry Cavill’s absence from the romance genre were taken care of when he left DC.

The actor and DC have broken up officially on paper. However, they just cannot seem to go without one another. This was once again proven as DC tried to promote Batman’s cameo in The Flash but instead, made way for a Henry Cavill stint.

DC seems to have been working under a constant earthquake siren as the new executives, Peter Safran and James Gunn, revamp its entire model. And it isn’t a cute little change like the one Sydney Sweeney would make to her car but very in the face. Therefore, despite The Flash being filmed before their entry, it has undergone several changes. Fortunately, Batman’s iconic “Yeah, I am Batman,” has still made the final cut. But so has “I’ll help you get this Superman.” And unless Gunn is planning to announce his new Superman in The Flash, it has Henry Cavill written over it in big bold letters.

It was made very clear by both the actor and James Gunn that he is no more the Man of Steel. And definitely will not be in The Flash. However, it is reported that Ezra Miller will find himself facing the same General Zod that Cavill’s Superman did.

The new clip released by Rotten Tomatoes featuring Michael Keaton’s Batman also clearly hints at them finding Superman. But while the odds are surprisingly in his favor, the events should not be ignored.

The Flash’s Superman is not Cavill

To say that fans did not take Henry Cavill’s exit very well will be an understatement, given how they are still anticipating his return. The return in question, although excited many but made us question if it was just another tactic to bank off the current scenario. Moreover, at no point in the clip does Superman make an appearance, he is only mentioned. And given the plot of The Flash, they may very well not even find him.

It was made clear earlier that Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot do not have cameos. But that’s what The Rock did while fueling the hype around his cameo. With the number of stones pelted at James Gunn, it might be that he wants to bring forth a ‘Dawn of Justice’ by putting the British actor in the suit one more time. Only June 16 will tell if Henry Cavill and DC will be able to bid a wholesome and lasting farewell to one other.
