Green Lantern (2011)

Starring Ryan Reynolds, Green Lantern is a witty sci-fi superhero action film streaming on Netflix from September 1st. Based on a comic series of the same name by DC Comics, the film is a must-watch because of Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds), the smug and awkward test pilot, who joins the intergalactic police force, the Green Lantern Corps.

Directed by Martin Campbell, the film also features Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Angela Bassett and Tim Robbins.

Once Upon a Time in America (1984)

A classic criminal gangster saga based on the novel ‘The Hoods’ is also releasing digitally on September 1st. With a promising cast having Robert De Niro and James Wood, the film is directed and co-written by the Italian filmmaker Sergio Leone. Rated 8.4 on IMDb, Once Upon A Time In America is also critically acclaimed.

Leone had turned down ‘The Godfather’ for this film, on which he spent most of his adult life during the making.

Safe House (2012)

Based on a true story, Safe House will take you to a not-so-safe house in this action thriller, which will be streaming from September 16th. A colt CIA officer, Matt Weston (Ryan Reynolds), interrogating a turncoat operative, Tobin Frost (Denzel Washington), gets attacked by mercenaries.

Daniel Espinosa is the director and Cape Town, South Africa was its filming location. Do watch to be a part of Matt and Tobin’s adventurous escape, if they do!

Birth of the Dragon (2016)

If you are, or even if not, a fan of Bruce Lee, this American martial arts drama film will keep you hooked with its action, portraying the emergence of Bruce Lee in Hollywood. Set in the 1960s Chinatown of San Francisco, the film will stream on Netflix from September 16.

Birth of the Dragon is directed by George Nolfi and has Philip Ng as the lead playing Bruce Lee. The film is inspired by the legend about Lee challenging Kung Fu master Wong Jack Man to a no-holds-barred clash.

Dark Skies (2013)

To make up for your adrenaline rush, Dark Skies will be up for watching on a Sunday, September 19th. By writer and director Scott Stewart, the horror sci-fi will take you through a series of supernatural blood-curdling events in the otherwise peaceful suburban life of the Barret family.
