Netflix‘s documentary series Drive to Survive will be telling the 2020 season of Formula 1 and the beloved documentary series has almost arrived. It has been announced that the show will be landing on Netflix in March. So let’s take a look at what we know so far before the show’s release.

Formula 1: Drive to Survive has been on Netflix since 2019. The popular series handles multiple themes such as the biggest stories of the F1 throughout the seasons. So the season 3 of the series will tell behind the scenes what happened in the 2020 season, which was significantly affected by the pandemic outbreak and then passed quite intensely.

Netflix, the producer of this documentary, took part in all of the events held before the pandemic outbreak. It also continued to shoot behind the scenes after the season resumed in July. F1 hasn’t cut off the events instead they have had a shortened season with many races bunched up together. On another side, most of the fans seem to think that the upcoming season of Drive to Survive will be dedicated to Lewis Hamilton. Hamilton has broken records this year by becoming the driver with the most world championships.

The Netflix team also followed Ferrari closely at the 2020 Italian Grand Prix in Monza. In that race, both Ferrari drivers got dramatically out of the race. They also filmed Nico Hulkenberg, who was called to replace Sergio Perez in two races at Silverstone. So the upcoming season of Drive to Survive will mostly focus on the mid-table which has been extremely competitive this year.

Formula 1 stated that the audience will be pulled “behind the scenes once again in the most dramatic season to date” and will “witness firsthand” the victory battle of both pilots and teams. So, it’s time to buckle up guys!

According to the statement of Formula 1, the season 3 of the series will release just 9 days before the 2021 Bahrain F1 race. This means Formula 1: Drive to Survive will be available to watch on Netflix on March 19th, 2021.
