Moreover, Louder found the depiction of heavy metal in the film as accurate. Their review of the film read, “It’s the capturing of our obsession with this music that makes Metal Lords worthwhile.Polygon too thinks that Metal Lords got the depiction of music and bridging of differing music genres right, and wrote, “Metal Lords does its most interesting work in the gaps between its leads’ relationships to the genre,” in its review.
