Netflix is a streaming platform that allows subscribers to watch movies and TV shows whenever they want. The streaming giant has now invested in upcoming directors by funding them and streaming their films on their site. One such initiative was Emerging Filmmaker Initiative (EFI), under which three filmmakers got their movies streaming on Netflix. One such gem that earned its way through EFI is Forgive Us Our Trespasses.
Forgive Us Our Trespasses- what is the film about and who is in it
Forgive Us Our Trespasses is a short featurette and has a runtime of only 14 minutes, but its impact on you goes well over its brief runtime. The movie is a testament to what a good filmmaker can do with mere minutes. Ashley Eakin has really blown our mind, and it took her less than 15 minutes to do so!

Primarily, the film revolves around a young differently-abled boy named Peter. Peter lives in a Nazi-infested world. Due to his condition, he and his family are easy targets for terrorists. When things go wrong, Peter must flee for his life, but instead of continuing to live in terror of the Nazis, he makes the bold decision to fight back. How far is Peter ready to go to reclaim his liberty?
Even though the film’s main cast is short, everyone delivers an impactful performance that makes you appreciate them even more. It stars Knox Gibson as Peter Hanneke, Talbot as Ms. Weber, Justin Mader as Nazi Officer, and Nathaniel McParland as Karl.
Are the people liking it?
Twitter has seemed to be blown away by how a film can be just 14 minutes long and yet hit all the right spots that even a two-hour movie cannot. The Twitteratis are saying:
If you haven’t watched #ForgiveUsOurTrespasses on Netflix, do. If it doesn’t make you think of what is happening today, you are missing the director’s point.
