Giancarlo Esposito seems to have become a favorite of superhero franchises, both unhinged and goody-two-shoes ones in recent times. The actor has for the longest time exuded an otherworldly aura that has the potential to be the cherry on top of almost every science-fiction role. It seems Marvel saw gold for gold and came knocking at his door. However, it was not until now that fans found out that Giancarlo Esposito had been cast as the iconic X-Men character.

After confirming that he would be joining the MCU a month ago, Giancarlo Esposito is all set to play George Washington Bridge as reported by MyTimeToShine on X. The character has graced the comics with his bulky, gun-owning presence a couple of times alongside Domino and Cabel in the comics, both of whom have acquired fan-favorite status with their appearance in Deadpool 2. However, the reactions that came in following the announcement of Esposito's casting were a mixed bag, to say the least.

In the comics, the character was one of the founding members of the Six Pack, also referred to as the Wild Pack alongside Cable, Domino, and others.  Given that Bridge's character was a part of the mutant team X-Force, this ignites chances of him appearing on screen together with his team members. However, Josh Brolin has indicated negative on any Marvel appearances at least from the studio's side.

Regardless of the nature of the project that Giancarlo Esposito will be appearing in, fans are having a hard enough stomaching his casting itself.

Giancarlo Esposito's Marvel casting has hit fans out of the blue

Given the guaranteed blockbuster fame and the large number of cheques that come with it, the casting of any actor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is widely discussed. However, the circumstances were unique in the case of Giancarlo Esposito, who himself revealed that he would be a part of the MCU, although he did keep his character a secret. Now, as his casting as G.W Bridge has been revealed, the fan reactions are making it quite easy to guess why the actor had chosen to remain mum on his character.

While avid cinemaholics may go as far as worshipping the ground that Esposito walks on, given his brilliant filmography, the younger demographics may not be acquainted with his charm. This led to an array of Marvel fans questioning the actor's identity itself.

Some confused fans were left scratching their heads at the mention of George Washington and questioned how and why the first President of the United States had any business with the MCU or Esposito when both G.W Bridge and Washington are two different characters.
