Standing tall as two pioneers of the pop and country music genre, Taylor Swift and Beyoncé have long ushered prominently on the global stage. With albums that have gone on to break several records and milestones, having the two share the same space for even one track remained a long-standing dream for fans, until recently. Queen Bey dropped her latest collection, ‘Cowboy Carter', and a surprise listing popped up not long after.

Listed in the credits for one of the songs, lay the ‘Wildest Dreams’ singer. However, before the combined fandoms go berserk in the hype, one truth stands in the way.

Following the recent releases of ‘Texas Hold 'Em’ and ‘16 Carriages,’ Beyoncé rolled out her latest album, ‘Cowboy Carter’ on March 29. A total of 27 songs accompanied the drop, but the track ‘Bodyguard’ made waves not for its lyrics or beats but for a listing that had Taylor Swift credited as a background vocals artist. It turns out that the viral screenshot never had any credence and the two artists have not collaborated in any way for the album.

‘Cowboy Carter’ headlined Queen Bey’s ‘Renaissance: Act II’ and aims to follow up on the first album's success. Regardless, the entry of Taylor Swift into the credits came through the lyrics website, Genius, which allows its users to modify the album. Thus, as per the latest official reports confirmed by many outlets, the two well-recognized global pop stars have yet to debut their first collaboration.

Adding sufficient teeth to take ‘Cowboy Carters’ to musical highs, Beyoncé has Dolly Parton, Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, Linda Martell, Willie Nelson, Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer, Tiera Kennedy, and Reyna Roberts as collaborators for her latest album. Additionally, the release of her album on March 29 came right ahead of the April 19 scheduled release of Taylor Swift’s anticipated and 'connected' ‘The Tortured Poets Department’.

The stage for another showdown, similar to the one between the two artists’s concert movies last year, appears to be on the cards. Moreover, with Taylor Swift minting several editions and vinyl specials for her upcoming album, the race for the top could turn even more contested with rap album releases from the likes of Future and Metro Boomin, having already set the tone.
