Netflix is reportedly looking to make a spin-off series for its original action movie Extraction, which stars Chris Hemsworth.

The popular streaming service seems to be interested in creating a cinematic universe for Extraction. The action-thriller movie starring Chris Hemsworth was released back in April 2020. It was a huge success for Netflix. As a result of that, they decided to shoot a sequel for Extraction as well. The sequel is planned to start filming this fall.

New productions for the popular movie do not stop there though, as Netflix is reported to start to think of a spin-off series about Extraction. There is not an official announcement on this yet, but rumors hold that Netflix is going to expand its Extraction universe even further with a TV show. The source of this rumor earlier reported that there was a sequel for Extraction before it was officially announced.

We saw this approach from the producers before. Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead already has a prequel and an animated series. In addition to that, spin-offs for the John Wick universe, Ballerina, and The Continental are still in the works while the movie is going to be back on the big screens with Chapters 4 and 5. We assume Netflix is going to adopt a similar approach to this job. That is if they actually start filming a spin-off though, as there is nothing official yet.

If you’re not familiar with the movie in the first place, you can check this part out. The movie is about Tyler Rake, who is a mercenary, trying to rescue the son of an international crime lord. Embarking on a deadly mission, Rake has nothing to lose in his life. Netflix released the action movie in April 2020. They shortly after announced that a sequel was coming for Extraction. Netflix is planning to start filming the sequel this fall. We do not know anything official about its release date yet. Here’s the synopsis of the movie.
